How to find us?

The T.M.C. Asser Instituut (map) is situated directly in the vicinity of the Peace Palace, which houses the Permanent Court of Arbitration and the International Court of Justice. A large number of foreign embassies are located in the near surroundings. Other international institutions are within walking distance of the Institute. 

By public transport:
Point of departure : Den Haag ‘Centraal’ (The Hague Central Station)
Bus: 24 direction : “Kijkduin”
Alight at bus stop : Groot Hertoginnelaan
The first turning to your right is R.J. Schimmelpennincklaan (3-minute walk) 
Point of departure: Station ‘Hollands Spoor’ (Den Haag HS)
Tram: 17 direction: “Statenkwartier”
Alight at tramstop: Groot Hertoginnelaan
Cross at the traffic lights and follow the tram track for approx. 25 mts. (past the no. 24 bus shelter). The first turning to your right is R J. Schimmelpennincklaan (4-minute walk)
 
By car:
From Utrecht (A12) /Amsterdam (A4) /Rotterdam (A13): 

• At ‘Knooppunt Prins Claus’ follow direction ‘Den Haag Centrum’
  (NB: coming from the direction of Rotterdam on the A13, please do not take the exit Den Haag Zuid  but continue onto the  A4 to ‘Knooppunt Prins Claus’ where you follow the direction ‘Den Haag Centrum’)
   
• Continue on the Utrechtsebaan (A12)
   
• Turn left at traffic lights at the end of the Utrechtsebaan (direction: Centrum Ring)
   
• Turn right at the next traffic lights ( Koningskade and Raamweg). Continue until you come to a viaduct (the ‘Hubertus viaduct’)
   
• Before you underpass the ‘Hubertus viaduct’ take the right lane, underpass the viaduct and immediately turn right (sharp bend). You are now on the ‘Hubertus viaduct’ and follow direction: Hoek van Holland. Drive straight on until you come past the Netherlands Congress Centre and the OPCW Building (both to your right) until you have reached the Golden Tulip Bel Air Hotel (also to your right).
   
• Turn left at the traffic lights next to the Bel Air Hotel and go straight on for approx. 100 mts.
   
• Take the second turning to the right (Alexander Gogelweg)
   
• Turn right again after approx. 25 mts (Andries Bickerweg, leading to R.J. Schimmelpennincklaan).
   
• The Asser Instituut is the white office building on R.J. Schimmelpennicklaan 20-22. 
   

There is sufficient parking space in the direct surroundings of the Institute.
