EU Rule of Law Project (EU-ROL)

From 23-26 November 2015, the T.M.C Asser Instituut is delivering a training programme concerning Justice reform and international cooperation toward the strengthening of the rule of law within the Montenegrin judiciary, under the EURoL programme. The course participants are members of the Montenegrin Supreme Court, senior representatives of the State prosecutor office and senior policy-makers from the Ministry of Justice of Montenegro.

The programme focuses on issues relevant to human rights protection regimes in Europe, judicial cooperation in criminal and civil matters, interaction between national courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union and dialogue with the European Court of Human Rights. Study visits to the International Criminal Court as well as The Hague Conference on Private International Law and Eurojust and presentations from representatives from the Dutch Council for the Judiciary and Ministry of Justice and Security provide insight into international and Dutch best practices. Other lecturers include senior personnel from the Asser Institute’s Research Department.

The project is carried out in cooperation with NiCo.
