Beier graduated cum laude from Sciences Po Paris in 2016, where she obtained a Master degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action. She holds a joint B.A. in Honors History from University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada and from Nanjing University in China. She will pursue a J.D. degree at Harvard Law School in September 2018.
Before joining the Asser Institute, Beier spent five months interning for the Asia-Pacific Program of the Coalition for the International Criminal Court. She also worked as Research Associate at Global Migration Policy Associates in Geneva, where she co-authored reports on the European Union’s migration legislation and policy, as well as on a human rights-based approach to migration and public health.
Beier works as Editorial Assistant to the Editorial Boards of the Netherlands Yearbook of International Law and of the Yearbook of International Humanitarian Law at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut. She is fluent in English and Chinese, and has a good command of French and basic knowledge of Spanish.
