Elena Emilia Popa is a recent graduate in International and European Law from The Hague University of Applied Sciences. During her studies, she focused on European law and in her final year she drafted her thesis in European Criminal law and it reads as follows: ‘The clash between mutual recognition, fundamental rights and public security in the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice’. Before joining T.M.C Asser institute, she was a legal intern at Eurojust for almost a year. After this experience, Elena has decided to take on new challenges by experiencing new legal fields. Subsequently, she joined the Institute for an internship in Private International Law so as to improve her research skills.
