Isabella is a visiting researcher at Asser Instituut, starting from January 2016.

She holds a Laurea Magistrale in Giurisprudenza (equivalent to Master degree) cum laude in European Union from Genova University, Italy. Her final dissertation touched upon the role of the European Union at the United Nations and the perspectives of reforming the Security Council.

 She is currently a PhD candidate in University of Genova, Italy, researching on the interplay between public international law and European Union law, with specific regard to individual sanctions.

Her main fields of interest include EU foreign policy, international law of the sea and international human rights law.

She has also worked in a leading Italian law firm and currently cooperates with a NGO engaged development cooperation in north-west Africa, further than contributing to an Italian on-line journal of geopolitics.
