Summary

My name is Katarina, I am Norwegian and I am a student at the University of Amsterdam. I am currently in the final stages of the LLM in International and European Law, in the Public International Law Track. My LLM thesis concerns the status of the environment in international law, and in it I outline a normative framework to support the case in favour of re-characterising the environment as a subject of law. Previously, I obtained a BA in Law from the University of Cambridge.

Having grown up in very natural surroundings, on the western coast of Norway, I have always been fond of the natural environment. A specialisation in environmental law thus presented itself as the most obvious path to pursue. Consequently, I followed a course in European Environmental and Sustainable Development Law during my undergraduate studies in Cambridge and I followed the International Environmental Law and International Climate Law courses at the University of Amsterdam. I am excited to be interning at Asser and look forward to gaining firsthand experience in researching European Environmental Law.
