Manon Beury, LL.M., M.A., is an intern for the International Crimes Database. She holds a French LL.B. of the University of Bordeaux, two Master’s degrees respectively in International Relations and in European Studies, both obtained at the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium), and a LL.M. in Public International Law of Leiden University. During the course of her studies she spent one year at the University of Pecs (Hungary) and six months at the University of Geneva (Switzerland) as an exchange student. She wrote three Master’s thesis; respectively on the EU strategy countering piracy in the Gulf of Aden, the protection of fundamental rights by the European Court of Justice, and State responsibility regarding hydrocarbon activities in the Arctic Ocean. In 2014 Manon completed a ‘Blue Book’ internship within the Legal Affairs division of the European External Action Service. Her main fields of interest include EU foreign policy, counter-terrorism and international environmental law.
