Ondrej Svacek is a senior researcher at the Law Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc (Czech Republic). He is a member of the Department of Constitutional Law and Public International Law. Currently, he also holds a post-doctoral position at Palacky University in Olomouc. He specializes in Public International Law, particularly in International Criminal Law.
Ondrej studied law in Olomouc (Czech Republic). In 2006, he was admitted as a PhD candidate at the Law Faculty in Brno (Czech Republic), he finished PhD studies in 2011 when he defended (summa cum laude) his thesis State and Individual: Relations of Responsibilities in Decision-Making Practice of International Judicial Institutions. He also holds LLM degree in Public International Law from Oslo (2011) and bachelor degree in Political Science and European Studies from Olomouc (2008). In 2007, he absolved internship at the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Dpt. of International Law).
Ondrej lectured on various international legal topics at universities across the Europe. He published books and articles on different issues and areas, including state responsibility, international criminal law, human rights, international humanitarian law, state immunity, and creation of states. Ondrej is a member of the American Society of International Law, the European Society of International Law and the Czech Society of International Law.
