Szilárd Gáspár-Szilágyi (Gashi) is in the finishing year of his PhD, focusing on the ‘direct effect’ of international agreements in the EU and US legal orders. In 2013/2014 for 7 months he was a Grotius Visiting Research Fellow at University of Michigan Law School. Prior to his PhD he interned at the European Commission and was a student assistant for prof. Peter van den Bossche, Member of the WTO Appellate Body. He completed a 2 year LLM in International Law at Maastricht University (top 3%), with a half a year exchange at Bucerius Law School, Hamburg and another half a year exchange at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. During his LLB he spent 1 year as an Erasmus student at Utrecht University Law School and graduated as class first from Babes-Bolyai University Law School, Romania. He has taught EU internal market law in Denmark and currently has 4 peer-reviewed published or accepted articles and a further 2 under review.
