- Section: Law of the European Union
My name is Wouter van Kuijk. I've studied Law at Leiden University and obtained my bachelor degree there. Later on, I started the master programme Law and Sustainability at the University of Tilburg. I concluded all courses with good grades and I am currently in the last phase of writing a thesis. My thesis topic is "The Brazilian National REDD+ Strategy - Assessing the Position of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities". I like to explore the connection between Climate Law on the one hand and the Rights of Indigenous Peoples on the other. Other special interests are human rights and climate change related subjects such as climate refugees. With this internship position I hope to gain knowledge and research experience in a wide range of topics related to Environmental Law. In my spare time I like to be outside in nature, occasionally giving tours as a nature guide in the dunes of and near The Hague.
