The T.M.C. Asser Instituut and Le Club de Droit International, a network of diplomats in charge of legal affairs in The Hague, have entered into collaboration to initiate a series of seminars in 2017 on the fight against climate change in international and European law. We aim to invite high-level speakers, with practical or academic expertise in the field of climate change law, to openly discuss, under Chatham House Rule, the existing legal framework and the challenges ahead.

As part of this new series, Le Club de Droit International in cooperation with the Asser Institute are organising its first meeting on Thursday 30 March 2017 at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut.

We welcome Mr Marcel Beukeboom, Climate Envoy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands, to speak on the following subject:

“The functioning of the Paris Agreement and its implementation in The Netherlands”
