Project description

The overall objective of the project was the consolidation of the rule of law in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia through improved implementation of international and European Union standards and the provision of recommendations in the areas of freedom, security, justice and respect of human rights. The project’s specific purpose was to strengthen the capacities of the Department for international legal assistance in Ministry of Justice, Public Prosecution Office, courts and competent stakeholders involved in mutual legal assistance (MLA) regarding the implementation of the international and EU standards. This project was commissioned by the DG Enlargement of the European Commission and awarded to CILC (Center for International Legal Cooperation). Asser researcher Vesna Lazic was involved and contributed to various training activities in Skopje (Macedonia).
