Sport and the Law. This seminar will examine the growth of big-time college and professional sports teams and leagues and will study a number of the sociolegal issues that have accompanied that growth: the emergence of players’ associations, the changed balance of power between owners and players, and the increased influence of television dollars on the structure of sport. Special attention will be devoted to the NCAA and its role as a private regulatory body. Paper required. Enrollment limited to fourteen. S. Wheeler.
