Julia van der Krieke MA

Profile

Julia van der Krieke has a Master Degree in Archaeology and Heritage at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) (2014), with a minor in Psychology at the UvA and a minor in Jewish Studies at the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland. Focusing mainly on Jewish history of Southern Poland and Amsterdam, she completed several projects in this field. In 2015, she participated in the organization of Open Jewish Homes for the Netherlands, as an intern for the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam. In 2014, she won the EU-Recall Competition, dealing with Second World War Heritage and monumentalization, in an interdisciplinary team. She is learning Hebrew and loves languages, art, history, literature, music and travelling.

Since September 2016, Julia is a PhD Candidate at the Asser Institute. Her research project is entitled ‘Ets Haim and Identity within the Context of the Early Modern Amsterdam Debate on Citizenship’. It is part of the project ‘The Global City: Challenges, Trust and the Role of Law’, funded by the Gieskes-Strijbis Fonds.
