Hakham Yehonatan Elazar-DeMota obtained a doctorate degree (June 2021) in international law from the University of Amsterdam, while performing research on the Global City Project at the T.M.C. Asser Instituut, funded by the Gieskes Strijbis Fonds. Yehonatan holds a MA in Religious studies and anthropology (2016) and a BA in Liberal Studies (2007) from Florida International University. He received ordination as judge of Jewish law (dayan) by Hakham Mordekhay Levi de Lopes. Apart from academia and rabbinics, he is an international jazz musician.
