The T.M.C Asser Instituut’s library

In the 1973 Annual Report for the first time a description of the Library and Documentation unit was given. A librarian and a part-time typist were largely responsible for the administration of the books. However, the secretaries of the research departments had to pull their weight too, especially for keeping up-to-date the loose-leaf volumes. Purchasing books and periodicals was also part of the librarian’s task, under the responsibility however of a Library Council, composed in that year from staff members of the research departments. The card system European law (see also 1967 and 1981) took up most of the librarian’s time.
