Matra South 'Administration of Justice' regional workshop in Rabat, MoroccoPublished 3 November 2015
From 19 – 21 October 2015, the Asser Institute organised the second part of the Matra South Training Programme on Administration of Justice in Rabat, Morocco. Following an intense 10-day training in The Hague in March this year, the group of judges and prosecutors from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia gathered again and discussed during country presentations their own initiatives in implementing the best practices from The Netherlands. The workshop included a debate with press judges and journalists, a presentation by a representative from the European Delegation in Morocco and a study visit to the Supreme Court. The group was also kindly invited to meet with representatives from the Dutch parliament during a reception at the residence of the Dutch Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Ron Strikker.
During these three days participants have shared experiences and ideas on how to improve the judiciary in their home country and contribute to the democratic transition in the Arab region. We would like to thank all participants for the continuous commitment and dedication towards this programme.
