After graduating in economics at the University of Amsterdam, Gert Grift (1957) worked at the University of Amsterdam and the Dutch Society for Personnel Management. In 1989 he joined the Academic Medical Centre Amsterdam, where he worked in several management positions for more than 25 years. His last position was Director of Strategy and Policy. As from 2014 he joined the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit as project director responsible for the cooperation between the sciences faculties of the two universities. Since May 2017 he is employed with the T.M.C. Asser Instituut in The Hague as Managing Director. His expertise is operational and financial management, academic education and research, including a.o. strategic issues, finance, HRM and ICT.
