Study on the fight against betting related match-fixing

Nov 4, 2013 - May 4, 2014

Project description

This research project focused on match-fixing in the 28 EU Member States. Specifically, the study mapped the situation of risk assessment and management, and prevention of conflicts of interest in the prevention and fight against betting-related match-fixing. The study identified and described how different existing regulatory and self-regulatory measures are enforced at national and cross-border level. To provide a better understanding of specific practices, it included an in-depth focus and analysis of a number of Member States (i.e. case studies) which were agreed in advance with the Commission.
The study concluded with recommendations on how the EU can address these problems and weaknesses.
