[Launch] Knowledge hub on international criminal law for Ukrainian judiciary

On September 8, 2025 at 15:00-17:00 CET (16:00-18:00 Kyiv), the Asser Institute, European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) and the National School of Judges of Ukraine, in cooperation with Ukrainian judges with experience of trying international crimes cases, will launch the Knowledge Hub on International Criminal Law for Ukrainian judiciary (‘Knowledge Hub’).
The Knowledge Hub on International Criminal Law will become a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience between judges in Ukrainian, foreign and international courts, experts, academics and practitioners on international criminal law, international humanitarian law and human rights in the context of international crimes.
The launch event, held in hybrid format in Kyiv and online, will feature the unveiling of the online platform of the Hub, and a panel discussion with international and Ukrainian judges, covering the aims of the Hub, the needs of the Ukrainian judiciary, and the avenues to support increased capacity in IHL and ICL for fair and effective adjudication of international crimes in Ukraine.

The new Hub and other capacity-building activities are conducted by the Asser Institute under the ‘Restoring Dignity and Justice in Ukraine’ programme. This programme is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, and implemented by a consortium led by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) in partnership with the Asser Institute, the Center for International Legal Cooperation (CILC), and the Netherlands Helsinki Committee (NHC).
