 Summer Law Programme on International Criminal Law and International Legal Approaches to Terrorism

 
The Summer Law Programme in The Hague is the product of a unique collaboration between the War Crimes Research Office of American University’s Washington College of Law, established in 1995 to provide specialised legal research assistance to internationalised criminal tribunals, and the T.M.C. Asser Instituut.
 



The Summer Law Programme in The Hague offers participants an opportunity to study some of today’s most important legal issues, in the heart of the international justice community. The team of lecturers and instructors for the programme will include judges, prosecutors and staff members from the ICJ, ICC, ICTY and other international organisations. Visits to major courts and legal organisations located in The Hague are included in the programme.            



The programme offers a unique opportunity to:
·         study in the heart of the legal capital, The Hague, at walking distance from the peace    palace library with one of the largest collections in the field of International Law, Public and Private Law and Foreign National Law;
 
·         receive lectures from and interact with up to thirty top-level speakers working in the field of international law, such as judges, prosecutors and staff members from the ICJ, ICC, ICTY and other international organizations;
 
·         interact with and share ideas and approaches with American law students;
 
·         expand your professional network with leading experts in the field of international law;
 
·         visit the 5 major courts and legal organisations in The Hague
 
 
Target Audience
40 students from top US law schools will travel to The Hague, the City of Justice and Peace, to follow this quality programme, among the courts and tribunals that are making legal history as we speak.

An additional 10 places are available on this programme for interested students /young professionals from across the globe. The programme is designed for graduate students and young professionals, interested in pursuing careers in counter-terrorism and related fields of work.
