ICL-TCL Training Course 2025
The T.M.C. Asser Instituut will be organising 2 trainings entitled 'Training on international and transnational criminal law for prosecutors and judges' in 2025.
- The French training will take place on 1 July 2025. It will consist of an online impact assessment of the seven-year project. This assessment aims to evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of the training, identify areas for improvement, and measure the program’s long-term impact on participants’ professional development and practice. It will be based on a survey completed by participants from previous editions prior to the event.
- The Spanish-language training program, being offered for the second time this year, will focus on exchanging best practices regarding environmental international crimes with Colombia's Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP). Scheduled for July 7-11, 2025, at the JEP headquarters in Bogotá, Colombia, the seminar aims to strengthen the JEP's capacity to prosecute environmental crimes under international criminal law through integrated legal and scientific methodologies. Additionally, the program will explore frameworks for establishing meaningful reparations for victims and implementing restorative justice measures for perpetrators.
The training courses will offer a high-quality training on the prosecution and adjudication of international and transnational crimes. They will delve into many relevant topics of international criminal law, such as the challenges to the domestic prosecutions of international crimes, the right of the defence or the cooperation with the International Criminal Court.
