Free

Venue:

Asser Institute

This workshop brings together practitioners and researchers from across the international criminal justice field – including prosecutors, defence counsel, victims’ representatives, registry staff, and civil society organisations – for an open, practice-focused discussion under Chatham House Rule. Participants will be encouraged to share reflections on issues such as workplace culture, professionalism, inter-institutional practice, well-being, emotional labour, and emerging sector-wide challenges.

Hosted and supported by the T.M.C. Asser Instituut, the School of Law at the University of Leeds and the Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen will organise a practitioner–academic workshop marking the launch of the Journal of International Criminal Justice symposium ‘Professionals and Professionalism(s) in International Criminal Justice’, chaired by the symposium editors (Mr Alex Batesmith and Dr Ilaria Zavoli, University of Leeds, and Dr Nora Stappert, University of Copenhagen) and by symposium contributor Dr Gabrielė Chlevickaitė of the T.M.C. Asser Instituut.

The workshop launches a new series of conversations to foster a healthier, more positive work environment across international criminal justice institutions.

Learn more about the symposium’s editorial here, and the practitioner roundtable discussion here.

This is an invitation-only event, and places are strictly limited to ensure meaningful participation and exchange.
