- Robert C.R. Siekmann appointed as Professor of International and European Sports Law at the Erasmus Universiteit of Rotterdam
The appointment is the result of a close collaboration of the T.M.C. Asser Instituut, the municipality of Rotterdam and the municipality of The Hague. <full article>

Research and Projects
- Rules of the Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO)
The Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spacial Planning and the Environment (VROM) has requested the T.M.C. Asser Instituut to research the rules of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) which are relevant for the airport spacial planning decision (LIB) Schiphol. <full article>
- Driving License Sanction Policy
The T.M.C. Asser Instituut will carry out research into the systems of measures and sanctions regarding the driving license in several European countries for the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Water management. <full article>
- The Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER)
Under the Jean Monnet Life Long Learning Programme of the European Commission, the T.M.C. Asser Instituut has received new funding for the continuation of The Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER). <more info>
- KNAW Grant Awards
The T.M.C Asser Instituut has been awarded two KNAW Grants: one for the Conference ‘”The Concept of Lex Sportiva revisited”, which will be held in the beginning of next year and one for the Conference “Temporal Issues in International Law” of the Hague Colloquium in honor of Dame Rosalyn Higgins on 3 december 2010 (see events calendar)
- Hague Forum for Judicial Expertise
The Hague Forum is in the process of acquiring new projects for autumn 2010 and spring 2011.
At the moment the Hague Forum is in advanced negotiations with Sudan and Sri Lanka and in the early stages for a course for Jordanian judges. <more info>

The International Law Association Conference (ILA) entitled 'De Iure Humanitatis Peace, Justice and International Law' took place from 20-25 August in the Hague. The hague University of Applied Sciences was the venue and the conference attracted some 700 delegates. <more info>
- Short-term Mobility Stay awarded to Olivier Ribbelink by the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR)
Dr. Olivier Ribbelink of the T.M.C. asser Instituut has been awarded a 2-weeks research stay in October 2010 at the Instituto di Studi Giurdici Internazionali (Institute for International Legal Studies) ISGI, of the CNR, director Prof. Dr. Sergio Marchisio, in Rome, Italy.
