Incompany cursus verdragsrecht / Inhouse training treaty law

Sep 22, 2011 - Nov 3, 2011

Project description

The training covered the main features of international conventional law, including conclusion of treaties, entry into force, interpretation, third states and relations between treaties. In addition, relevant aspects of EU external relations law were covered. These issues were informed by cases which had been formulated by HDJZ members.

To carry out the project, a training programme was set up, taking into account 8 case studies which had been prepared by the participating officials. On this basis, the major elements of conventional international law were covered with relevant intrusions into the field of maritime law. Specifically, also, the inner workings of public international law were provided, so as to facilitate insight into the problems encountered by the officials. Finally, the issue of the relationship between public international law and European law was covered.
