Study of the relationship between the constitution, rules and practices of the Universal Postal Union, the WTO rules (in particular the GATS) and the European Community Law

Nov 1, 2003 - Jun 30, 2004

Project description

To carry out the project, the project team proceeded in several steps, first setting out the applicable bodies of law and then turning to the interfaces between them. The study then analysed in detail the possible divergences between a host of UPU provisions and WTO law and then set out specifically in respect of each of those whether inconsistencies arose. The report concluded with a set of recommendations how best to deal with them.
