Prof. Henri de Waele

Henri de Waele is Professor at Radboud University. His research primarily focuses on European institutional law, with special emphasis on the interaction between the institutions, the effect of European rules in the domestic legal order, the system of judicial protection and EU citizenship. It also extends to the external relations of the EU and the position of the Union within the international legal order, as well as the foundations and general principles of public international law. He also serves as guest professor of EU External Relations Law at the University of Antwerp and visiting professor at the University of Bonn. He has given lectures and papers at a number of seminars and conferences in many European universities and institutions. His recent publications include “Legal Dynamics of EU External Relations: Dissecting a Layered Global Player” (Springer) and “EU Institutional Governance: Exploiting the Potential for Democratic Reform”.
