What CLEER offers

What CLEER expects

  • Research conducted at CLEER falls within the remit of its conceptual programme
  • Research findings will be presented during a lunch lecture for staff and/or a public lecture held at or organized by the T.M.C. Asser Instituut and/or CLEER
  • Research results will be published, in one form or another, under the umbrella of CLEER. Fellows are expected to submit at least one working paper to the editorial board of CLEER. Unless a contract has already been concluded with a publishing house, T.M.C. Asser Press will have the first right of refusal for the publication of monographs and edited volumes

Eligibility

  • PhD candidates, recommended by their supervising professor(s)
  • Post-doc researchers and (assistant) professors benefiting from a research sabbatical
  • Experienced practitioners, retired or on temporary leave
  • Experts invited by the Head of Department of the T.M.C. Asser Institute, on behalf of the governing board of CLEER.

Duration

  • Short-term fellowship: 3 or 6 months
  • Long-term fellowship: 12 months (renewable)


Procedure

  • An official request to become a fellow of CLEER must be submitted, via email, to the academic programme coordinator of CLEER (Dr. Eva Kassoti, E.Kassoti@asser.nl). This request will be screened by Dr Kassoti and the governing board of CLEER.
  • The request will consist of a short CV, motivation (and recommendation) letter(s), research proposal (incl. a 200-word abstract), all in English. Topic and abstract of successful applicants will be published on CLEER’s website
  • Complete applications will be dealt with within 30 days of their receipt

Fellows of CLEER are not employed by CLEER, nor by the T.M.C. Asser Instituut and are expected to make the necessary arrangements to adhere to Dutch immigration rules (to be approved beforehand by the Institute’s HR department)
