Profile
Jamie Smith is a photographer based in the Netherlands. Studying at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, his work looks at ways consumer culture and global trade shape both how people are represented and how they see themselves. Mixing commercial tropes with documentary approaches to question where visibility, value, and responsibility meet. His current project CRASH follows the export of used cars from Europe to West Africa, using this trade as a lens on law, cultural perceptions, and identity.
