Masoumeh Rahimi is a recent graduate of the LL.M programme in Public International Law (Conflict and Security) at Utrecht University, where she specialized in international humanitarian law, international criminal law, and the legal implications of emerging technologies. Her thesis examined the challenges posed by surveillance technologies in conflict-affected areas, focusing on privacy and data protection through the lens of human rights and humanitarian law. She holds a summa cum laude LL.B from Shahid Beheshti University, where she ranked first in her cohort and conducted award-winning research on the role of artificial intelligence in legal advocacy within Iran.
Masoumeh has gained practical experience through roles at Lawyers for Lawyers and Global Human Rights Defense, contributing to policy briefs, public legal education, and advocacy on human rights and gender justice. She has also supported legal training initiatives and produced accessible legal content for public audiences. With a strong background in legal research, editing, and communications, she is deeply committed to bridging the gap between complex legal frameworks and effective public engagement.
