On 5 June 2025, the Asser Institute will join colleagues from across The Hague’s academic and research community for a special gathering at The Hague University of Applied Sciences: 'Building societal resilience: a whole-of-society approach'. Organised in the lead-up to the NATO Summit, this event brings together scholars, students, civil society actors and practitioners to explore what it means to build resilience in the face of complex and evolving global challenges.
As part of the event’s second round of breakout sessions, Asser Institute researcher León Castellanos-Jankiewicz will deliver a lecture entitled 'Can arms trade bring about peace?'.

Hear personal experiences and take part in discussions on leadership, career skills, cybersecurity, governance, misinformation and more from alumni and other professionals in the field —hosted by partner institutions and THUAS lecturers. - Employment Fair & Networking Reception (18:00 - 20:30, Atrium)
Engage with future-ready students and graduates, share your organisation’s perspectives, and connect with like-minded institutions and sector experts.
Who will be there?
The event is open to students, alumni, and staff of MBO, HBO, and WO institutions in The Hague, as well as external professionals, experts, and policymakers. Organisations from across sectors - public, private, and non-profit - are invited to participate in meaningful conversations and showcase opportunities to the next generation of professionals.
