Annika is currently a student at the University of Amsterdam, pursuing her Master's degree in Public International Law. Her primary areas of focus and interest encompass International Humanitarian Law, Human Rights Law, and Criminal Law. She has written her master's thesis, examining the involvement of non-state actors in cyber operations within the context of the conflict in Ukraine. During her bachelor studies, Annika completed a 5-month internship in Communications at UN Women Finland, gaining practical experience in the field. Her primary areas of interest in International Humanitarian Law revolve around the legal aspects of military operations, and the evolving role of non-state actors in contemporary conflicts within the framework of International Humanitarian Law. Annika has joined the Asser Institute as a Communications and PR Intern, where she will further develop her expertise and contribute to the institute's mission.
